Scottsdale Rug Cleaning is a family-owned handmade rug cleaning, repair, and restoration company serving the Valley from our facility in the North Scottsdale Airpark. For over 30 years, we've been trusted with the most valuable and irreplaceable handmade rugs in Arizona.

That focus matters because handmade rugs are fundamentally different from every other textile in your home. A hand-knotted Persian rug may contain over a million individual knots tied by hand over months or years. The dyes may be natural vegetable extracts mixed using recipes passed down through generations. The wool may come from specific sheep breeds raised at specific elevations. Every rug is unique — and every rug requires a cleaning approach customized to its specific fiber, dye, and construction.
This is not something you learn from a training video. It comes from handling thousands of rugs over decades — seeing how different fibers respond to different cleaning agents, how different dyes behave in water, how different construction types react to agitation and drying. After 30 years, there isn't a rug we haven't seen, a fiber we haven't handled, or a cleaning challenge we haven't solved.
We operate from our dedicated rug cleaning facility at 7830 E Redfield Rd in the Scottsdale Airpark — a purpose-built space designed for full-submersion hand washing, controlled drying, and meticulous repair work. Every rug is cleaned, dried, and stored in a clean, climate-appropriate environment throughout the process.

Every Rug Deserves Individual Attention
We don't batch-process rugs through a one-size-fits-all system. Every rug is inspected, dye-tested, and cleaned using a process tailored to its specific requirements. Your rug is unique — its cleaning should be too.
Honesty Over Sales
If your rug can't be safely wet-cleaned, we'll tell you. If a repair cost approaches the rug's value, we'll tell you. If the damage is beyond restoration, we'll tell you. We'd rather give you an honest answer than take a job that produces a bad outcome.

Full-submersion hand washing takes longer than steam cleaning. Controlled flat drying takes longer than machine drying. Hand reweaving takes longer than adhesive patches. We choose the method that produces the best result, not the one that's fastest.

Rug cleaning — full-submersion hand washing for every rug type: Persian, Oriental, silk, wool, Navajo, antique, and Kilim flat-weaves. Each type receives a customized process.
Pet odor elimination — enzyme-based treatment that reaches the foundation of the rug where uric acid crystals live. The only method that eliminates pet odor permanently.
Rug repair & restoration — reweaving, fringe repair, edge rebinding, moth damage treatment, color restoration, and foundation repair. Traditional hand techniques that match the original construction.
Moth damage treatment — infestation elimination, reweaving, and prevention. A year-round concern in Arizona's warm climate.
